Cookie Policy
Effective Date: 2026-04-16 | Last Updated: 2026-04-16
This Cookie Policy explains how SignalAEO LLC ("SignalAEO," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on the signalaeo.com website and the SignalAEO web application. Read this Policy alongside our Privacy Policy.
What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site owner. "Similar technologies" include local storage, session storage, pixel tags, and web beacons — all of which accomplish comparable purposes. When this Policy refers to "cookies," it also covers those technologies.
Cookies can be first-party (set by SignalAEO) or third-party (set by a domain other than SignalAEO, usually a service provider we use). They can also be session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (stored until they expire or are cleared).
Cookie Categories We Use
We classify the cookies we use into four categories:
| Category | Purpose | Can You Opt Out? |
|---|---|---|
| Essential / Strictly Necessary | Required for the Service to function — authentication, session management, security, load balancing, CSRF protection. | No — the Service will not work without these. |
| Functional / Preference | Remember settings and preferences, such as your dashboard layout, time zone, and consent choices. | Yes — you can clear these in your browser at any time. |
| Analytics | Help us understand how visitors and customers use the Service so we can improve it. We use privacy-first analytics that do not set third-party cookies. See the Analytics section below. | Yes — via the cookie banner or browser controls. |
| Marketing / Advertising | We do not currently use marketing or advertising cookies on signalaeo.com. If this changes, this Policy will be updated and consent will be requested in advance. | N/A — none currently in use. |
Specific Cookies
The following cookies may be set on your device when you use our Service:
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| signalaeo_session | SignalAEO (first-party) | Keeps you signed in to your account | Session | Essential |
| signalaeo_csrf | SignalAEO (first-party) | Prevents cross-site request forgery attacks | Session | Essential |
| signalaeo_prefs | SignalAEO (first-party) | Stores your UI preferences (time zone, theme, dashboard layout) | 12 months | Functional |
| signalaeo_consent | SignalAEO (first-party) | Records your cookie consent choices | 12 months | Functional |
This list reflects our current cookie inventory. As the Service evolves, we may add or remove cookies; we will update this table and note the change date.
Note on payment processing: SignalAEO uses Recurly's hosted checkout pages for subscription payments. When you check out, you are redirected to a Recurly-hosted page on a Recurly domain (such as recurlycheckout.com), and any cookies set during the payment flow are set by Recurly on Recurly's own domain — not on signalaeo.com. See Recurly's privacy and cookie disclosures listed under Third-Party Cookies below for details.
Your Choices
You control most cookies:
- Cookie banner: When you first visit signalaeo.com from the EU, UK, or certain US states, you will see a cookie banner. You can accept all cookies, accept essential only, or manage categories individually. Your preferences are saved in the
signalaeo_consentcookie and can be changed at any time via the cookie settings link in the footer. - Browser controls: All modern browsers let you block or clear cookies. See the next section for links.
- Account deletion: Closing your account clears all first-party functional cookies within 90 days.
Disabling essential cookies will prevent parts of the Service from working — including sign-in, billing, and checkout.
Managing Cookies in Your Browser

Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Because there is no industry consensus on how to respond to DNT, and the W3C has not finalized a specification, our Service does not currently change its behavior in response to DNT signals. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where required by applicable law, treating it as an opt-out of sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in any case).
Analytics
We use privacy-preserving analytics to understand usage of the Service in aggregate. Our current analytics approach does not set third-party tracking cookies and does not identify individual users across sessions. Analytics data is retained for 24 months and then aggregated. See the Sub-processors list for the current analytics provider.
Third-Party Cookies
SignalAEO does not currently allow third-party cookies to be set on the signalaeo.com domain. Some of our service providers do set cookies on their own domains when you are redirected to or interact with their hosted pages — for example, Recurly's hosted checkout pages set Recurly cookies on a Recurly domain when you complete a subscription purchase. Those providers are independent controllers of the information collected through their own cookies. Refer to each provider's policies for details on what they collect and how to opt out:
- Recurly Privacy Policy: recurly.com/legal/privacy
- Calendly Privacy Notice: calendly.com/privacy
- Amazon Web Services Privacy Notice: aws.amazon.com/privacy
When you embed or load external content from other sites (for example, a third-party widget embedded in our blog), those sites may set their own cookies that we do not control.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy when we add, remove, or change cookies. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Material changes will be announced with a notice in the cookie banner; minor updates (adding a new essential cookie, renaming an existing cookie) may be reflected here without separate notice.
